What is Workflow automation?
Workflow automation is letting machines run a repeated chain of tasks by fixed rules: when A happens, do B, then C.
This kind of automation needs no AI: it does exactly what it was told and never guesses. AI helps in the parts that need reading text or images, such as working out what a customer wants. Put each in the right place and you get flexibility with few mistakes.
Workflow automation in a shop
A new order sends a confirmation and creates a delivery slip: no AI needed. Reading a message to tell a complaint from a price question: that is where AI helps.
