Embedding (vector)
Written by Minh Khang

What is Embedding (vector)?
An embedding (vector) is a way of turning text into a list of numbers so a machine can tell how close two meanings are, even when the words differ.
Two sentences with different words but the same meaning, like "delivery fee" and "how much is shipping", become lists of numbers close to each other. That is how RAG finds the right passage even when the customer words it differently.
Embedding (vector) in a shop
A customer types "how long until it arrives" and the system still finds the "delivery times" section.
